Rosie has really been enjoying stories and asks for them. She's now trying her hand at it herself.

Beads and shovels
Rosie had been talking a lot about making necklaces for us (inspired by something she saw on a show). We walked down the street to a fun kid store and totally scored with a bead set. We hunkered down at the coffee shop for some serious jewelry-making. She was so sweet, repeatedly saying "I make you a beautiful necklace. Yeah? Yeah?"

She transitions well from fine jewelry to gardening! She helped mommy and daddy with yard work today. She was devastated when we interrupted her shovel time (which initially started as Tupperware and a plastic soup spoon) and was glad to return I work.
Dialogue from this afternoon: "Daddy/Mommy, what're you doing? What am I doing?"
(Wait for us to ask her what she was doing)
"I'm shoveling!"
(Repeat over and over again)

All that hard work warranted Rosie's first ice cream truck treat!

27 months
The coolest developments in the last month have all been around language. Rosie hears and repeats all (no secrets!). Whenever she comes back from someone's house, it's fun to hear the new expressions and phrases pop up. Examples of fun language use:
- I'm getting diiiizzzzzzy! (at the park, balancing on the floating bridge)
- I got you! I got you! (on her way to console her baby cousin)
- Are you happy? I'm happy. (right before falling asleep, putting her face right up against mine...too much!)
- One second, one second (when trying to delay the inevitable)
- Awwwwwkward (picked up from her friend G during our Truckee weekend trip)
- I'm alright, I'm alright (assuring us she does NOT need her diaper changed)
- Naked attack! (a favorite pre-pajama bedtime ritual)
- Who that? What's that? (still a favorite of hers...used incessantly. She asks, even when she knows the answer. Which is very likely her just copying us since that's exactly what we do to her)
- SCUSE ME (her version of excuse me, though she usually asks for attention by screaming it. next step will be to show her how to wait patiently for a response)
Hard goodbyes
Had to say bye today to the OLês. But first...
Laundry diva:

Ballerinas need bibs too:

J trying his hand at hammering:

Never too early to learn fractions:

Cat nap or cat walk:

On our way to the airport...don't go!

Mommy loves J!

It wasn't easy saying bye, though this time was especially difficulty. Can't wait for our next visit this summer!
Memorable:
- Rosie sayin "I got you, I got you" and hugging J when he was crying.
- "Manamana," said J
- "Rosie," said J.

Bui Family Fun
Hat shopping:
Pomelos from the Farmer's Market (heavy!):
Hello Kitty:
Our first outdoor party on the new outdoor space! We had the Bui side of the family over and Vavô and Vavó. It was a beautiful day!
Beepbeep:
Walk around downtown Pleasanton:
Ong: "Do you want to come down?"
Rosie: "No!"
