Joseph, month 2

Joseph at 2 Months

He likes giving deep sultry looks (see below). He has begun playing with his voice and responding when we converse with him. He has begun to enjoy having books read to him. He enjoys the colors and lights of trees as he stares at them from below. He enjoys interacting with his sister, until her love gets a little too smooshy. He loves to be held and bounced so he has enjoyed many walks around the house and neighborhood. He is a happy little man...who has made his family very content!

Sibling love

Unsurprisingly, Rosie has been taking her job as a big sibling very seriously. We've been amazed with how patient and loving she is with Joseph. She impresses us with how calm she stays when he cries. In fact, she automatically goes into song to help calm him. In the beginning she would immediately break into a very high-pitched "I loooove you" tune. Since then lyrics have included "it's okaaay," "it's okay to feel sad," and, once, "if I could, I would marry you*." So sweet to see how much she loves Joseph and to see him start responded to her with big smiles.

* lyrics follows a conversation about how Rosie was going to live with Joseph forever because she was going to marry him. We had to break the news to her that that was not allowed.

Handsome like daddy

Remarkable cows

Fitting that we have been listening to a Sandra Boynton "Cows" song on repeat in the car. Today Rosie had an assembly at school with those special visitor. It's nice to have teacher friends at school looking out for Rosie.

Chabot and sleepover

Went to the Chabot Science Center, walked around Berkeley campus, then ended up having an impromptu sleepover at Ba H's
House (just Rosie and Ba).

Secret admirer

Joseph got his first secret admirer. Mystery remains unsolved.
