*Mushu: Rosa's word for softy skin

9 months

Oops! A couple days delayed.

Joseph is 9months old! He is on the move and becoming more independent ( recipe for mischief). He enjoys attempting to feed himself and, while food doesn't always make it in his mouth, just about everything else does. Especially shoes (yuck). He lights up at familiar faces and gives flirtatious glances at strangers. He's discovered his lips and tongue, a musical combination. Joseph has a Montessori-inspired bedroom, with his own mattress on the ground and toys at his reach. This came about after we decided a crib was not our family's style. No fault of his own, he does wake up a couple times a night. But we are just enjoying the snuggles for now despite some sleep deprivation challenges. Joseph has two glorious bottom teeth that have been very useful for munching on food and his sister (ouch). This kid loves to play with keys, piano, and guitar. He is a very joyful little one and brings us all such happiness!

Farm birthday party

Yesterday we had the pleasure of celebrating one of our cousin's 3rd birthday. In addition to spending some nice quality time with family, we got to enjoy a petting zoo and pony ride! It was such a cool opportunity for Rosa, as she took an instant liking to the Guinea pigs and rabbits, but the real highlight was the chickens. She quickly grew comfortable with them and spent nearly the whole time tending to them. She even experienced the joy of holding s freshly laid egg, which the farmer said she could keep (though it had an untimely run-in with the ground. A bit of a sore subject still). Rosa is already asking to invite the chickens to her own birthday party, but we clearly need to get her on a farm soon! Also, Joseph'a first time in a horse! Solid day.

Big sister

The love between these two is magical. Rosa would carry Joseph around all day if she could.

Napping and music together

Got ourselves a tooth!

Joseph's first tooth is here! Can't really see it too well, but not from lack of trying.
