Boston, revisited
A few shots from our Sunday trip in Boston. The weather was fantastic (finally cooled down!).
Cooling off at the North End:
Nap and stroll around Quincy Market:
Rosie's nap was an hour longer than expected so we found ourselves in Worcester, randomly coming across this great barbecue joint. Rosie approved.

Rocky Neck, Middletown
This afternoon we hit the beach! Rocky Neck State Park. The water was refreshing, the tide low (very low), and (unfortunately) the blue flies fierce. We had a really good time playing in the water. It was the perfect depth for Rosie to feel confidence. She jumped the "waves" and bravely explored on her own. While we were resting on the sand, the flies were relentless so went for a second dip then called it a day.
Next on the agenda was to meet up with friends at the Music at the Mansion event at Wadsworth. We met up with some old high school friends and their families. Rosie learned to do a somersault with the help of her friend IS, a very good teacher.
Aunt T and Uncle D joined us right at the end so we headed to La Boca for some snacks and drinks, along with good friends RK and BB. Had a great time. As DaddyO put it, if we lived nearby we'd totally be knocking on their doors to hang out!
Rainy visit
Last night we caught up with more aunts and uncles T, D, Kh, and K-V! It was a stormy day but it cleared up in time to have dinner outside. Once the mosquitos hit we went in for a game of Apples to Apples (Rosie-style) then went for a walk downtown. It was nice catching up, including exciting baby news!

Boston
Rosie and I hit up the greater Boston area in anticipation of DaddyO's arrival. After resting at the hotel

we went over to Di K-A's housewarming party! It was so nice catching up with her, and Rosie had a blast playing with her boyfriend B and friends who were gracious in humoring her in games of hide n seek and such. Can't wait to see Di K-A and B next weekend!

Connecticut: the early days
We've had such a relaxing time here at Connecticut that I've forgotten to post!
We have gone swimming everyday at the gym. Rosie is growing more and more comfortable in the water. She independently puts her head underwater for a nice long stretch (5 seconds?!), and we played around with floating on her own (she scream/laughed...I think that's a good sign). Twice now Rosie has stayed at the kid's center while Ba and I worked out before swimming. She keeps asking to go back to her "teacher."
We hang out on the hammock (when it's cooled down a bit), gone for neighborhood walks, and visited the library (which turned into an epic potty adventure). Funny side note: my old high school friend who used to live on Coleman Rd with us just moved in next door! Neighbor reunion!
We visited some of my old high school friends, during which Rosie made two young friends who begged us to come back and play.
Di T has been a master storyteller and good sport, always up for Rosie's story requests. Rosie is growing more comfortable with Ong Ba Co (great grandparents), and it is funny to see Rosie react similarly to how I did when Ong would try to tickle our ears. I told her she should try to tickle him back. Working on that one.
Having a great time, though we are looking forward to picking Daddy up at the airport on Saturday for a Boston adventure!
"Exercise! Exercise!"
Rosie's first grapefruit bowl. She insisted on doing it herself (with varying degrees of success):
Attempting to use the pool. We settled for this:
Puppet show at the library:
"I'm busy Mommy. I have to bank.":
Evening walk with Ong Ba. Rosie was being a silly flasher (yes, that's her dress over her head):
Silly camera time:
Warning: naked baby butt! Post-swim hair drying:
Rosie woke up for a mid night chat with Daddy. So good to hear them laugh together:

garden party
Some shots, courtesy of Auntie A, of the garden party over the weekend.
This garden sign read something like this (according to Rosie): "No eating the pigeons."
Entering the secret garden:
Ooooh!
Parallel exploration:

Fireflies! I was so excited to show Rosie fireflies. Last year Rosie saw some for the first time and was entranced by them. This year I was able to walk around with JCL and enjoy their soft, magical glow. Almost don't mind the mosquitos when you got these little bugs around.

New Jersey party time
After a lovely day in Delaware, we partied the night away in New Jersey for the 25th anniversary party of T-A and V-A. Rosie loved being with family and getting to dance to the live band (very hard to get her to leave the dance floor). It was a beautiful celebration.
Practicing songs. When we sang in front of the group Rosie was singing along as well!:

Dancing with aunties:

Ong D and Zia:

Ba and Di T:

Sunday morning bath:

An audience gathered for the show:

Heart to heart with K:

Learning the art of braiding:

Applying new skills on Ba:

Elbows with aunties:

Rosie helping J with his matching jacket, a gift from their aunt T-V:

Hugs:

Dancing w Ba:

Kisses goodbye:

One last rock out before hitting the road:

Rosie's aunts have her a doll, which she named Rosie and promised to take very good care of. In the car Di T helped her put on a bathing suit:

Rosie is lucky to be so well loved! More photos to come.
