We thought it would be cool to look for songs that had something to do with a Rosa/Rose/Rosie. Di T helped us find the first song, Cracklin' Rosie by Neil Diamond.
Today's featured song is Ramblin' Rose by Nat King Cole.
Ramblin' rose, ramblin' rose
Why you ramble, no one knows
Wild and wind-blown, that's how you've grown
Who can cling to a ramblin' rose?
Ramble on, ramble on
When your ramblin' days are gone
Who will love you with a love true
When your ramblin' days are GONE
Ramblin' rose, ramblin' rose
Why I want you, heaven knows
Though I love you with a love true
Who can cling to a ramblin' rose?
Ramblin' rose, ramblin' rose
Why I want you, heaven knows
Though I love you with a love true
Who can cling to a ramblin' rose?
we haven't vetted the lyrics for these yet, but there's Rosa Parks (Outkast) and just the other day aimee found a Norah Jones song called "Rosie's Lullaby"!
ReplyDeleteJust youtubed that Norah Jones song! Awesome find, Aimee!
ReplyDeleteRosie (Tom Waits)
ReplyDeletethis is one of our favorites! (Bonus: It also sounds like he says Rosie and Rosa throughout the song.)
No youtube link (can you believe it?), so try this: http://ilike.myspacecdn.com/play#Tom+Waits:Rosie:277736:s29890765.8516559.2484.0.2.130%2Cstd_e3b3e739b84c4c27a0f42c0fbf97fd12
"And the moon's all up, full and big, apricot tips in an indigo sky,
And I've been loving you, Rosie, since the day I was born
And I'll love you, Rosie 'til the day I die."
