Happy birthday Tio

We had a packed day! Went to Santa Cruz to meet up with cousin M, who was down from Humboldt for a tournament, and the rest of the family. It was a picturesque day on the most beautiful fields. Rosie had a blast running around, snacking on hummus, and getting lots of love. We were able to connect with old friends and former students we coached as well.

Then, after a stroll downtown, we hopped in the car and beelined for Vietnamese food in San José. We went to a tried and true favorite, Thien Long, here we had a true family style feast (cha gio, banh xeo, 2 kinds of pho, bun bo, hu tieu, bun thit nuong tom, com bo luc lac, and a grilled fish dish that I can't remember the name of but that we rolled in banh trang). It was a big hit with the whole group!

Then it was a surprise cake for Tio R whose birthday is Monday.

Food gets a thumbs up from Rosie:

Happy birthday song:

Rosie helping Tio cut the cake...with a chopstick! Very resourceful:

With bellies full we headed back toward home and left Rosie with Tio and Tia while mom and dad went to the movies. Skyfall!
